-OK, so I'm finally going to talk about SARS....-

This is the trick that London Underground has been missing out on ...

MTR (Mass Transit Rail) Corporation here runs a series of posters giving sympathetic customers the chance to text or record 'messages of comfort' to fellow Hong Kong citizens, encouraging them to overcome the blight of SARS on the tropical island - the motto is "We can overcome any difficulties, if we stand united". So far I haven't heard any being broadcast yet. But how sweet is that? Much nicer than the posters around the Central Line stating that "you are advised to travel outside of 0800-0900 and 1700-1800 if at all possible to avoid overcrowding".

Hotels are offering 2 for 1 deals on buffets here as a way to entice people in - the deal is on 'until further notice' - i.e. permanently, or at least until the situation with SARS improves. I.S. and I pledged to go to clean out the Grand Cafe some time soon!
