Summer

It is a truly summery day in Hong Kong. The sky is so deep blue it is clear all the way out towards China. Only 16 hours ago I had been with M. at Heathrow airport. My colleagues have applauded me for (a) coming in earlier than they did, (b) looking perky and (c) still having found time to have had a shower and blow dry my hair. Not bad for someone who has been up since yesterday.

It was a good holiday. I miss M. already (cue pantomime-style 'aah's).

Hong Kong summers are somewhat different:

27th June, 2003

'A Hong Kong windsurfer is saved after he lost his way and accidentally ended up in mainland waters. His sail boom snapped and he lost sight of land, but he had thankfully taken his mobile phone windsurfing with him. He used it call the Marine Police, who got permission from Guangdong province to cross the border to get him'.
