It's embarrassing. ROK's current president has sued a couple of dozen newspapers for libel and damages worth KRW3,000,000,000. Apparently he feels his reputation has been damaged because of the rumours reported by the press about the sources of his funds in the presidential election. I chuckled when I saw the report (I mean, what reputation? The bloke is a nutcase to think he has one) then I grew stern - this guy really is a nutter. If it's not Blair's government jumping on the BBC it's some megalomanic president who is jumping on the press. Hey folks, if you feel that you don't have thick enough skin to be in the highest position of authority in a democratic society (and thus automatically up for scrutiny in any form), then just quit. Don't mess with the system and freedom of speech!
